Standard dimensions for hex socket screws in China

We need to use various types of screw products in our daily life. There are many kinds of screws, hex screws are relatively common. What is the national standard size of hex socket screws? Let’s find out.

One, what is hexagon screw

Hexagonal screws are round on the outside and concave hexagonal in the middle. Hexagonal screws are common screws with hexagons. The inner screwdriver looks like an “L”. A hexagonal screw wrench is used to cut both ends of a hexagonal steel bar and bend it to 90 degrees.

Two, the national standard size of hexagonal screws

1. The standard size of screws is different because of many specifications. If m4 hex socket screws are used, the pitch is 0.7mm and the diameter is between 0.7mm.

2. If the m5 model is selected, its pitch is 0.8mm and diameter is between 8.3-8.5. M6 screws, pitch 1mm, diameter 9.8-10mm. There are also m8, m10, m14, m16, all the way up to m42, so the diameters and pitch are not equal.

Three, the use of hex screws

Hexagon screws are often used in machinery, the main advantages are fastening, easy to disassemble, not easy to slide Angle. General hexagon wrench is 90 degrees bend, bend one end long, one side short. When using the short side to play the screw, holding the long side can save a lot of power. The long end of the screw is better tightened with the round head (hexagonal cylinder similar to the ball) and the head. The round head can be easily tilted and disassembled, and some parts which are not convenient to put down the wrench can be installed. The outer hexagon is much cheaper to make than the inner hexagon. Its advantage is that the screw head (the stress position of the wrench) is thinner than the hexagon, and some places can not be replaced by the hexagon. In addition, machines requiring low cost, low power density and low accuracy use far fewer hex screws than outer hex screws.
