The anti-rotation solution solves the untwisting problem

Ives Dekeyser provides an overview of the latest developments in mechanical fasteners, in particular anti-rotation solutions for demanding applications.
The Tubtara rivet nut is a mechanical fastener designed to securely hold threads in sheets or profiles and has been manufactured by Dejond since 1954. bolt or screw. Tubtara is used for various sheet metal applications. This avoids tapping, welding or the use of bolts and nuts. Mounted on one side only, it is a very good solution for enclosed spaces such as metal cabinets, profiles or railings, etc.
Dejond has felt for some time that there is a clear need for Tubtara 316 stainless steel, which is effective in environments where enhanced corrosion resistance is required. Forging 316 stainless steel on roadheaders is a technical challenge. Dejond was originally intended only for applications exposed to chlorides and salt water such as the marine, chemical or food industries. At the same time, it also provides many style options for the general industry. Tubtara 316 stainless steel has proven its worth in all situations, both indoors and outdoors, where corrosion or high temperatures are critical and a long-term non-magnetic solution is required. It serves customers in the transportation (salt) and pulp and paper (high temperature) industries. It is used in industrial kitchens, bathrooms, hot water systems and indoor swimming pools, as well as in coastal climates and polluted or industrial environments. Some use closed versions to protect against dust, oil, or certain liquids.
The latest innovation in her portfolio is the ANTI-TURN Tubtara. Dejond developed an anti-rotation solution for very demanding customers who could only machine round holes in very hard base materials. Anti-rotation tube with cylindrical shank and special anti-rotation head solves the problem of unscrewing when hexagonal holes are too complex or not allowed. It has one or more lugs under the head that securely lock the nut into a pre-drilled hole in sheet metal or profile. This innovative design delivers at least twice the high RPM torque of an equivalent round nut. Important advantages are high efficiency when working with smooth surfaces or very hard materials, as well as the use of standard round holes, which eliminates the risk of cracking in the corners of hexagonal holes. Easy to install using standard configuration tools or automated installation. l
